The Star

So subtle, so gentle your light

I cannot feel but happy this cold night

You warm this soul, this body until dawn.

From faraway, in awe, I gaze on.

And even then, even from a distance,

I still will feel your presence, your light

I will run through the day.

I will look forward to the next night

When I’d see you, to again feel your light.

But worlds apart, I know the long battle I will lose.

I can only dream of us together.

But all that I’d give, and all that I’d do

To just have you, cherish you forever

‘Til then, every night I will wait

I will wait for your heavenly fall from the night sky

And love you from a distance until the day I die.
